Leadership Development

PURPOSE & VISION

Welcome to the Leadership Development Webpage. The Leadership Development exists to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and to build up the body of Christ (Eph. 4:12). The Leadership Development Ministry provides classes that train people in Bible, theology, practical Christian ministry, and spiritual leadership for the purpose of producing lay leaders in the church who have the ability to lead others by way of teaching, disciple-making, mentoring, and group leading.

COURSES OFFERED

The Leadership Development is composed of three courses and a specialized class. These courses take a total of two years to complete. Each course is offered in either the spring or the fall, and will last approximately 8-12 weeks. Only one course is offered at a time; the courses may be taken in any order.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

L101: Studying and Teaching the Bible: Pastor Nathan Adams

The Bible is the foundation of our belief and practice. We, as a church, are a Scripture Led people, meaning that we do not allow culture, money, or opinion decide how we lead the Church. God’s Word is the final authority on decisions made. Moreover, it is absolutely essential to have the tools and skills to be able to accurately apply the Bible to our daily life. This class exists to help you develop this skill for spiritual growth and church leadership.

L102: Practical Theology for Ministry: Pastor Nathan Adams

Theology is not just for scholars in dusty libraries who like to argue about the Bible. Theology simply means, “Words about God.” If you have ever thought about God, you are a theologian! The question is, what kind of theologian are you? Our prayer is that you will be a godly one who loves God, loves truth, and loves His Church.

L103: Practical Christian Ministry: Pastor Micah Warren

Much of the skills needed for ministry cannot and are not taught in a classroom. However, this class will be teaching the intensely practical side of ministry that no pastor can learn in seminary. How do I organize a small group? How should I lead a meeting? How can I maintain a schedule? All of these questions and more will be addressed in this class.
