Jesus came to serve and he demonstrated what servanthood looks like with his life.
I. __(Insert Your Name)__ UNDERSTANDS THE MISSION OF JESUS
Daniel 7:13, 14
“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.”
Any servant who only sticks with Jesus as long as things are going good has no understanding of the cross.
I Corinthians 2:9
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
Servants understand that life is never going to be easy but in the eternal rule and reign of Jesus we will experience all the indescribable joys God has planned for us.
II. __(Insert Your Name)__ KNOWS THAT LIFE IS NOT ABOUT HIM/HER
When you’re consumed with your own righteousness you will have very little room for other people in your life.
It’s good to know that being a servant is not a platform for greatness it’s a position of humble service.
Quote:
Service to others is the primary way in which believers imitate and fulfill the mission of Jesus. J.R. Edwards
III. __(Insert Your Name)__ ACKNOWLEDGES THERE ARE MANY OTHER SERVANTS
Quote:
“Churches that are filled with self-righteous, exclusive, insecure, angry, moralistic people are extremely unattractive.” Tim Keller
If your brand of Christianity and study of the Scriptures is not ultimately leading you to love Jesus, receive and reach out to others, and serve joyfully in the local church; you’re doing it wrong!
In essentials, Unity!
In non-essentials, Liberty!
In all things, Charity!
