Fasting

FASTING

The goal of fasting is to draw near to God—to intentionally set aside something that competes for our attention so we can focus more fully on Him.

Fasting creates space to quiet our hearts, refocus our minds, and seek God with greater intentionality. It’s a spiritual reset that reminds us that our deepest need is not found in what we consume, but in God Himself.

Set something aside. Seek God. Draw near to Him. Use this time to pray, listen, worship, and allow God to renew you from the inside out.

Fasting Tools

Fasting is one of the simplest ways we can practice our dependence on God. By choosing to abstain from food for a time, we are reminded that we are not self-sufficient and that we need God to sustain us in every way.

These reminders also help align our hearts with God’s truth as we pray. He is the Provider; we are the needy. He is sovereign; we are His servants. He is worthy; we are His worshipers.

As you fast, let each reminder draw you closer to God and deepen your trust in Him. Set aside distractions, spend intentional time in prayer, and allow God to shape your heart and strengthen your faith.

Start slow, seek God often, and grow in your dependence on Him!

BIBLICAL FASTING SEMINAR

Join us on Wednesdays, November 11 and 18, as we explore the biblical purpose and practice of fasting. Together, we’ll discover how fasting can deepen our dependence on God, strengthen our prayer lives, and help us grow in our walk with Christ.

Our study will be based on Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Don Whitney. Come ready to learn, grow, and draw closer to the Lord!
